Hi Lindsay,

I tried exporting names and grade level to Excel and was able to do so. Please email me the file with the gobbledygook and I'll take a look at it.

thanks,
Truman

Hi Lindsay,

I'm not sure what is causing that problem. My suggestion right now is to export to "Comma Separated Values". Save the CSV file and then open it in Excel. I'm sure that would work.

Thanks,
Truman

Hi Lindsay,

I found out that you can upload files to the forum. Click on "Additional Options" below the forum note text box and it lets you upload those pdf files you're emailing to me. I'm attaching your file to this message.

I'm not sure why you're unable to download those files. I'm able to do so in my WinXP laptop. Could you ask Kevin for help with setting up your browser not to open those files in the browser but launch the proper external program?

Or you can try this:

In Firefox for me, I can go to Tools > Options ... Click on the Downloads icon, then in the Download Actions section click on "View & Edit Actions". See if you have settings in there for how you want Firefox to open .XLS or .CSV files.

I will try Kevin, He is an outside source we hire occasionally, but he isn't always available to come in. I looked into the download settings where it says:
the view & edit actions it only lists these two actions:

PNG        PNG Image        OPen  with QuickTime Plu...
TIFF        TIFF Image        Open with Quicktime Plu...

Hey Truman,

Lots of good stuff in this thread!  I hadn't looked at it for a long time.  So, I'm bumping all the ideas above for implementation.  ;-)

Anyway, our finance guy just told me today (why do people wait so long!) that he's never been able to get an excel export on the finance data to work.  He says all he gets is an empty file.  He's on PCs.  Any idea what's going on here?

Hi Marc,

Thanks for bumping this topic. I'll work on the printable attendance sheets for groups.

Can you ask your finance guy what particular excel export wasn't working?

thanks,
Truman
