BoxTrapper was uninstalled from all accounts because it is fundamentally flawed. Boxtrapper is designed to intercept all incoming mail and require the sender to verify that they are a real person and not a faceless spam server. In order to mail you the person is forced to reply to an email which gets automatically sent to them when our mail server receives their email. Once they reply to this email they should never have to do it again unless you remove them from the whitelist.

However the challenge message is sent on the pretext that the email is in fact sent by that sender (a real person with a real email address), but this is not the case with internet spam today.

Spoofed spam attacks often send spam email ostensibly from a real person, but really the spam message was sent from a person's email account without that person's knowledge or consent.

In short, what is considered to be fixing the spam problem, in fact increases the spam problem and includes the user who is using such Challenge Response System as the spammer to innocent by-standers, and further elevates the problem where such a server is in fact black listed.

The BoxTrapper system itself was also found to be flawed causing one account to fill up with unnecessary challenge messages taking up all the allotted disk space.

Other spam prevention measures have been installed instead which require no effort on the part of the individual user or church. See the FAQ entry.
