Hi

Is there an easy way for upload and then include files for downloading in the webpages. I love the way that you can select photos from the photo albums for including in the webpages, but I can't see an easy way for files?

Guess I can always upload the files to the skin and then use the url of the file for including in the webpage.

Justyn, this is something I would like to add to Ascribe. But right now it is not supported.
Thanks,
Truman

Thanks for the clarification. I'd rather ask than miss a function that's already there. Can I get your thoughts on whether my suggestion is the best way of solving my problem?

I know there is the file section, but I only seem to be able to get 'temp' urls for the files there. Would there be a way of obtaining the actual permanent url for a file stored in that area?

I think that once I have the pdfs up on the website I'll be ready to move our website fully over to Ascribe which is very exciting.

Many thanks in advance

Justyn

Hi Justyn,

The files module was designed for secure file sharing. So the files are not publicly available via a direct URL. They must be accessed from within Ascribe.

However, in the future I plan to upgrade the files module to allow for hosting non-secure (i.e., public) files.

To put up non-secure files using Ascribe, yes, use the files section of the skins module. That's the best way.

Thanks,
Truman
