Hey Truman,

Strange thing.  I try to log into the member portal and I can't.  I use my ascribe log-in info, but it gets rejected.  When I do the "I forgot my password," it asks me for user name and email address.  I put that in, and then it tells me that I don't have an email address on file.  (See pic.)

What's up with this?

I'm not sure what happened. I created a user for myself and was able to log into the member portal with it.

Can you log into Ascribe and try editing your password and then use that new password to log into the members area?

Also, send me via email (for security purposes) the username that you are using. Maybe there is an issue with it. I can check on it.

I'm sending you my log in credentials so you can check it out.

Hi Marc,

I was able to log in using the username and password that you sent me via email. Can you try logging in from another browser?

Huh.  Weird.  I can successfully log in in Safari 4 (beta), but cannot log in in Firefox 3.0.1.

What does that mean? I'd sure like to fix this so other users don't have the problem.

Hi Marc,

Are you by any chance using Firefox to remember your password and enter it for you automatically? I don't have any problem logging in with Firefox using a Mac.

Can you give me a screenshot of the Ascribe screen which doesn't let you log in?

thanks,
Truman

I use 1Password, a third party password manager - so it's the same whether I use Safari or Firefox.  But I've also tried manually entering, and that doesn't work either.  As far as screenshot, there's nothing to show.  The screen doesn't change at all.  I enter my credentials, click the log-in button and the fields clear, but nothing changes.  It's completely unresponsive.

I also use 1Password, which I've found to be hit or miss. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I experienced problems with it after a recent upgrade.

I was not able to duplicate the problem of not getting any login error response with Firefox. I use Firefox 3.0.10. Are you still unable to login via Firefox? Login records seem to indicate that you have been able to login via Firefox.

OK.  I tried again.  Went to the log in page. (Pic 114).  Entered in my credentials manually.  (Pic 115).  I hit "log in" and the screen blanked my credentials out and changed to this: (pic 116).

I tried to use the "forgot password" link.   But entering my credentials returned a message that I have no email address in my account so password could not be reset.  (pic 118)  This, of course, isn't true.

Very weird.

Shucks, I had forgotten we were talking about logging into the members area. I was looking at login records for the intranet. I'll do some more checking on this.
