is there a way for the member status to not be shown in the members list in the extranet section. It's a bit unhelp in our situation, and I'd love to be able to have the option to decide what is shown in that section.

Thanks

A software upgrade is about to go in which will make the member directory in the extranet different. Can you hold off on this one a while?

Happy to wait. Do you have any time frame for when? Don't want to rush you but it would aid my planning on role out of the members area.

Thanks in advance

Hey that's exciting. Have had a quick flick through and love being able to use Safari 4 to start with. Can't wait to see more fully what is there.

Truman

Just a quick query. I tend to use the photo album function for uploading images that will be used on a temporary basis on the website. Since the upgrade those images do not appear on the website (see how page - www.saoirsedublin.com). I went to put them in again in the edit page function and discovered that the tool for going through the different pages of photos in the albums didn't appear. ie I got the pop up window, but not the arrows/navigation for going to the next page.

Can you help?

Update on the issue - the insert picture from album definitely seems to have got broken in the upgrade. Even if i try to insert a picture from the options I get listed the follow up screen is missing a lot of the option there were before, and I cannot seem to even add the picture to the page now.

Sorry to be a pain!

Hi Justyn,

My apologies for the errant images. I've run an secondary upgrade script on Saoirse Dublin's installation to update the image URLs as they were moved in the upgrade which I performed on Friday. In that upgrade, the photos were moved to our new content delivery network which means that now photos are served not from our central Ascribe server but from a content delivery network which will serve the images from a server geographically close to the website visitor. This will make Ascribe powered websites appear quicker to the end user. Again, my apologies for problem. But it images are now correctly showing on www.saoirsedublin.com.

I realize that the image inserter tool is broken at the moment and I will fix that in short order.

Thanks,
Truman

Thanks Truman.

I republished my pages as I'd noticed that the pictures were appear ok in the 'view' page - guess we were doing it at the same time. I appear to have now lost my navigation on the website. Were there any changes to the system that could have caused this do you think? Just don't want to play with the templates unnecessarily!

From alot of the stuff I've seen the upgrade looks great, and I appreciate there will always be a few minor tweeks to make afterwards.

I'm at a family funeral for a few days this week, but aim to go through the system and let you have some notes on any thing that I find - assume this might be helpful?

Regards

Hi Justyn,

Sorry to hear about your family member. God bless your family during this time.

Thanks for understanding about tweaks that frequently need to be made after an upgrade. I've fixed the problem with the navigation. It appears to be all there now.

thanks,
Truman

Hi Truman

It's sad, but also a great celebration. My grandad spent his life loving Jesus - such a great example, and now he's with Him!

Thanks so much so sorting the navigation. Looking forward to testing the system - always something I liked doing in a previous job.

Hi Justyn,

The tool to insert photos into a HTML editor works now again when using Firefox. So you can use FF to insert photos again.

Just as a heads up, at some point in the near future I'm going to swap out the current the HTML editor for a new one, which will also work in Safari. I'll probably rewrite the photo inserter widget.

thanks,
Truman

Truman

Thanks for sorting that problem. Very exciting to hear that you are going to use an editor that works with Safari - I was going to enquire about that. I don't know if this is something that you would be thinking about adding in, but to be able to easily insert files for download just as we can with photos would be a great addition.

Keep up your fantastic work

Hi Justyn,

Yes, in fact, I want a user to be able to upload a photo or file right from the editor's toolbar popup widget. Being that Ascribe's files are now stored on Amazon S3, it makes it easy for me to make those files both secure and permissioned for authorized download. In short, yes, the next version of the editor will allow for inserting files.

Thanks for the kind words.

Truman

That sounds wonderful. I know it will be of great benefit to everyone.

One quick thing for you. I'm trying out the 'member signup' function, and in Safari and Firefox when I submit the new member all that happens is it takes me to the top of the page. There is no mention of incomplete fields, and no confirmation email. Thought I should note it.
