IE8 and sign up problem

Hi Truman

I've had IE8 users say that they can't create an account in the members areas of our site. I've had a look at the signup page and I wonder if the fact that the 'check username' and 'password strength' functions don't work or even appear in the case of 'check username'. When you click the 'signup' button you just get taken to the top of the page.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I confirm that there are Javascript errors in IE8 on the signup form. I'll look into it and get back to you. Thanks for reporting this!

It seems to be again the same problem of the signup page on one domain name being wrapped in another page (which is a 100% frame) of another domain name.

You could ask your IE8 users to go directly to https://www.ascribedata.com/saoirsedublin/community.php?action=sign_up to signup for an account.

The future upgrade of Ascribe will take care of this problem.

In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Don't you just love IE! Thanks for the work around. I'll leave things as they are for now, but if someone  asks I'll redirect them to that link or encourage them to use Firefox or Safari ;-) I don't know that many people that are on IE8 and those who are seem to also have other browsers to use.
