Hi Truman

Just a quick bit of feedback on the new upgrade. I like! One comment though is that I miss the search function in the contacts page. It was great being able to type in the first or last name and be able to get easily to the details. We're only small but could imagine that with a larger church the search function would be invaluable when trying to find someone amongst 200+ records?

I seem to have an issue viewing my personal details when I log into the portal. If I click either my name or the my profile link it stays on the initial dashboard page. If I log in as a normal user (ie my son for example), then it works fine. Is this just because I am administrator, or something slightly more strange?

Sorry for the various postings today - I'm meeting with someone later on today to go through some of the system with them so that they can take on some of the management of some areas and so I'm wanting to be completely clear on how things work post the upgrade before the meeting.

Thanks in advance

Justyn

Hi Justyn,

Can you send me screenshots of the problems you are seeing? I can't duplicate any of these issues. The search box shows up for me in the person module, same as before.

thanks,
Truman

Truman

I'll email you the image as it contains peoples personal contact details that I'd rather not be viewable in a forum.

Hi Justyn,

Thanks for sending me the screenshot. And my apologies for the delayed response. I hope you had a good time in the UK.

I see now that you were referring to the member directory in the members area. Yes, I did remove the search capability in this new version of the member directory (which is a complete rewrite from the previous version). I will add in name search capability. I definitely agree that this is a highly desirable feature.

Regarding your suggestion via email to add options of letting users show their wedding date in the member directory, I plan to upgrade this area in the future. Perhaps I might implement a friend feature where you can specify whether or not to to show such information to only friends or to every person with access to the members area. For now, I've kept the member directory limited to just contact information. As of now, only you are your spouse can click through to your profile page from the member directory. In the future, your friends will be allowed to click through. Wedding date would shown then in the profile page.

Thanks for all your great comments and suggestions, Justyn!

Truman

Glad to hear that my comments are helpful and not too annoying!
