A new and easy to use form to take attendance has been installed to Ascribe. Now you can search for people using a search form. Ascribe will perform a search and display matches on the screen without making you wait until the entire page reloads. This makes for a much faster user experience. Matches will list and you can click on the attendance icons to mark people as attended. If "track registrations" was set for the event you will be able to mark people as "registered", "attended", "walk in", "cancelled", or "no show".

Quick tools included on the form also allow you to mark people as attended all at once. For example, you could search for all the active members in your church and use the quick tool form to mark all the active members as registered for the event.

Also, the auto logout feature which has been a part of Ascribe for many years has finally be updated. It originally used a popup to display how many minutes and seconds the user had left before Ascribe would automatically logout the user. This is a security feature to logout users which have left an Ascribe page open idle for too long. The length of time that Ascribe allows a page to be open and idle can be set by the Ascribe administrator. By default this time is set to 90 minutes.

However, the auto logout notifications have not worked for many people who have browsers with a popup blocking mechanism. This new upgrade uses "popup" notifications which now display within the page.

The benefit of having these notifications is to prevent people from losing their data. Sometimes people keep a window open for a long time because they are composing an email message or writing a web page. These auto logout notifications will remind the user to save their work before they are auto-logged out and lose any data already entered.

As always, your feedback on these upgrades is much appreciated and I will do all I can to make sure Ascribe is easy to use and beneficial for churches.

God bless,
Truman
